1.    Eirias High School has 6 different blocks full of fully equip class rooms including science laboratories, library and ICT facilities. Also there is an Astroturf pitch, athletics arena, MUGA (Multi Use Games Area), 2 gyms and a playing field.

2.    They run lots of extra curriculum clubs like art, drama, hockey, netball, rugby, Spanish, homework club and lots more.

3.    The school has approximately 1600 pupils and 120 teachers and staff.

4.    You will have many opportunities to go abroad with Eirias, here is a list of some of the places they have taken there pupils to in the past.  Germany on exchange trips, Ecuador and the Galapagos islands on an expedition, and Iceland, Poland and France. Eirias is also planning to take their pupils to Patagonia, Argentina, and South Africa on expeditions where students help out with the communities and see wildlife and sights you wouldn’t often see.

5.    Sixth form in Eirias gives you lots of great opportunities like learning to speak mandarin, the most widely spoken language in the world. They also have the chance to help out with lower school support lessons where they join in with lessons of students for year 7, 8 and 9.

6.    At Eirias everyone is given an account for the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) on the internet witch you can access by this address www.eirias.co.uk/mvle . This is where you can look at your courses your homework and sometimes class work. It can also be used to play games, look at pictures from school events and ask your teachers about things either using the private messaging system, the forums or the course drop box.

7.    At the new library there are hundreds of different books to choose from for different people’s tastes. There are also computers for the students to use. The library and reading room is where homework club takes place. At Eirias they offer Music lessons including woodwind, brass, string, guitar, singing and you can be included with the school orchestra, choir and jazz band.

8.    Everybody has a 15 minute break at around 10 o’clock where you can see your friends, get a snack from the cafeteria and put some money on your dinner card for later. Lunch Time is split into two different lunches for half the school on one and the other half and the second lunch. You can see your friends, play football on the Astro-turf and sit in and eat a hot meal with your friends in the cafeteria.

9.    There is a wide selection of food to choose from including; sandwiches, pasta, different special and delicious sauce of just beans! You can go for the unhealthy option where they sell burgers and chips or you can go for the healthy special that varies everyday from a delicious lasagne to a filling roast dinner. Also you can just buy a sandwich and go up stairs and sit with the other people that have brought sandwiches to school or stay down stairs. For Desert you can choose from cakes, biscuits, flap jack and mousses or a hot pudding like crumble with custard. You should bring around £2.50 to school for lunch for a proper meal with a drink, dinner and pudding.

10.    At Eirias you are bound to have loads of friends as there is so many people, you will find friends you fit in with and get along with, so don’t worry about coming to a new school not knowing anybody.
